Privacy Policy for Fat Cat
Effective Date: March 23, 2026 Last Updated: October 31, 2026
Cenk Küçükiravul ("we," "our," or "us") built Fat Cat as a freemium game app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Fat Cat.
By using Fat Cat, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Information We Collect
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: We collect anonymous, on-device usage data such as which features you use and interaction patterns (e.g., game events, level progress). This data is stored locally on your device using Apple's system logging framework and is not transmitted to our servers or linked to your identity.
- Crash data: If the app encounters an error, our own diagnostic information is logged locally on your device using Apple's system logging. We do not send it to any external crash reporting service. (The Google Mobile Ads SDK may separately collect crash and performance diagnostics about its own operation; see below.)
- Game progress: We store your game state (score, purchased items, settings) locally on your device using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your device.
Information Collected by Third-Party Advertising (AdMob)
Fat Cat displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. When ads are active, AdMob may collect:
- Device identifiers: Including your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), if you have granted permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.
- IP address: Used to serve geographically relevant ads.
- Ad interaction data: Whether you viewed or interacted with an ad.
- Approximate location: Derived from IP address for ad targeting.
- Diagnostics: Crash and performance data about the ads SDK, used by Google to keep ads working.
Ad data collection is subject to your ATT consent choice. If you decline tracking, AdMob will serve non-personalized ads.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Fat Cat shows Google's consent message (Google User Messaging Platform) before any ad is requested. Your choice there controls whether Google may use cookies, device identifiers or other data for personalized or non-personalized ads. You can change it at any time in the game under Settings > Privacy Choices.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal account information.
- We do not require account creation.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, location, camera, or microphone.
- We do not collect health or financial information.
- We do not share your data with third parties other than as described in Section 4.
2. In-App Purchases
Fat Cat offers in-app purchases processed entirely through Apple's App Store. Launch products include:
- Remove Ads — a one-time purchase
- Starter Pack — a one-time purchase
- Fish packs — consumable in-game currency bundles
We do not collect or store your payment information. All purchase data is managed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain Fat Cat's core gameplay functionality
- Save your game progress locally on your device
- Display advertisements (including personalized ads if ATT consent is granted)
- Improve and optimize the app experience
- Fix bugs and resolve technical issues
We do NOT use your information to:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Build advertising profiles outside of AdMob's standard ad personalization (controlled by your ATT choice)
- Make automated decisions that significantly affect you
4. Third-Party Services
Fat Cat uses the following third-party services:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | In-app advertising (interstitial and rewarded ads) | Google Privacy Policy |
| Apple StoreKit | In-app purchases and purchase restoration | Apple Privacy Policy |
| Apple Game Center | Leaderboards and achievements (only if you are signed in to Game Center) | Apple Privacy Policy |
Analytics and crash reporting of our own code are on-device only (Apple's os.log framework); we send no analytics data to our own or any other analytics server. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect crash and performance diagnostics as described in Section 1.
5. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
When Fat Cat reaches its first meaningful ad opportunity, Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework may ask for permission to track your activity across apps and websites. This permission controls whether AdMob can use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalized ads.
- If you allow tracking: AdMob may serve personalized ads using your IDFA.
- If you deny tracking: AdMob will serve non-personalized ads. Your gameplay experience is not affected.
You can change this permission at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
6. Data Retention
- Local game data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or clear app data. We have no access to this data.
- AdMob data: Retained and managed by Google per their data retention policies. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
7. Data Security
- All game data is stored locally on your device and protected by iOS's built-in security.
- We do not operate servers that store your personal data.
- Ad network communications use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: Request information about what data AdMob holds about you via Google's My Account.
- Deletion: Request deletion of AdMob data via Google's data controls.
- Opt-out of personalized ads: Deny or revoke ATT permission in iOS Settings.
